Convert Design win clean tech marketing grant

The whole Convert Design team, led by Christophe Convert, recently attended a Bootcamp Plus Programme, alongside other local entrepreneurs, and won a local marketing grant to help them develop plans for development of a clean tech product.

The camp was funded by the UK government through the UK Community Renewal Fund. All those taking part in the program were focused on projects contributing to achievement of Net Zero and were clean tech-focused.

Plastic recycling project

Plastic recycling is important, but too much still arrives in landfill. This project focuses on making it easier for us all to confidently recycle plastic bottles. At the moment, even with labelling meant to be helpful, it’s unclear to most of us which plastics can be easily recycled – and which can’t.

This means we make a random decision to dispose of bottles in a recycling bin – or in the normal rubbish bin. Either way, we can’t be sure the local authority will genuinely recycle them (or whether they will just divert to landfill without us knowing).

Making recycling easier

Our aim is to get more plastic recycled and contribute to elimination of single use plastic. To that end, we’re working on a clean tech product that makes it easy, fun, and convenient to recycle plastic bottles with confidence about where they end up. The idea has been on the mind of the company founder for some time and now this grant takes it one step closer to becoming a reality. The entire team is looking forward with excitement to delivering the final product. 

Seeking further investment

Taking the prototype for this product to production requires considerable investment.
